KWU women's tennis remains unbeaten

Kansas Wesleyan women's tennis improved to 3-0 in dual matches this spring as the Coyotes beat Texas A&M – Texarkana 6-1 on Saturday at Salina Central High School.

KWU would win the doubles point as Makenzie Archer (FR/McPherson, Kan.) and Brianna Mendoza (JR/Balch Springs, Texas) beat Kassie Newton and Abigail Lucht 6-3, and the Coyotes would win No. 3 doubles by forfeit. TAMUT's Kheidyvel Ibarra and Natalie Scott beat Karley Benson (SO/Salina, Kan.) and Michaela Crowe (FR/Overland Park, Kan.) 7-5 at No. 1 doubles.

Wesleyan also won three of the four contested singles matches. Crowe beat Scoot 6-3, 6-4; Zofia Selwesiuk (SO/Wroclaw, Poland) beat Newton 6-3, 6-2; and Archer beat Lucht 6-2, 6-1. Savannah Noel (SO/Portis, Kan.) and Mendoza picked up forfeit wins. Ibarra would beat Benson 7-5, 6-4.

Up next for the Coyotes is a match against Baker on Saturday in Lawrence.
