Susie Mae Young, 87, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021. She was born January 9, 1934 in Greenwood, Louisiana.

She worked for USD 305 in food service at Roosevelt / Lincoln Middle School for 29 years.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Annie (Bullard) Lloyd; husband, James Turner, James Young; brothers, John, Fred, James, Willie, David; sisters, Flora, Bessie, Mary.

Survivors include Frankie Young of Denver, Colorado, Sandra Reno of Thornton, Colorado, Susann Moore of Arlington, Texas, Clifford Turner of Parkville, Missouri, Douglas (Barb) Turner of Manhattan, Kansas, Deborah Turner of Salina, Gwendolyn Turner of Salina, Christopher Turner of Salina; sister, Ossie Jernigan of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother, Lee Arthur Lloyd of Portland, Oregon; her grandchildren, Anthony Moore of Arlington, Texas, Andrew (Natasha) Moore of Arlington, Texas, Andrea (Harrison) McDaniel of Arlington, Texas, Elizabeth (Jordan) Simson of Clarinda, Iowa, Seth (Tori) Turner of Overland Park, Matthew (Katie) Turner of Ft. Worth, Texas, Michaelee Mae Turner of Parkville, Missouri; her great grandchildren, Dylan Lindsay, Alexa Moore, Jacob Moore, Jaxon Moore of Arlington, Texas, Justus Stimson, Jude Stimson, Elsie Mae Stimson of Clarinda, Iowa, Graham Turner of Overland Park, Jackson Turner of Ft. Worth, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.   

Visitation will be Friday, 6-7:30 p.m., April 16, 2021 at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford, Salina.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m., April 17, 2021 at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church, 215 S. Chicago St.

Memorials may be made to St. John’s MBC - music ministry.
