Serpan and Deckinger Named to KCAC Women's Volleyball Preseason Team

Kansas Wesleyan's Rylee Serpan and Josie Deckinger have been named to the Preseason All-KCAC team for the 2023 season.

The team is comprised of returning All-KCAC first and second-team players from the 2022 season, in addition to one honoree from Evangel who made the All-Heart of America Conference second team a season ago.

Serpan was a first-team All-KCAC selection in 2022 and earned KCAC Freshman of the Year honors and was named as a Honorable Mention NAIA All-America selection. She ranked third in the KCAC in kills per set in conference play at 3.72, and also ranked third in the conference in hitting percentage, at .339 during conference play.

Deckinger led the KCAC in assists per set at 8.85 in conference play. She was named to the All-KCAC second-team a year ago. 

Other players highlighting the 2023 Preseason Team are Radaisy Valdez of Ottawa University and Sophia Wicker of Southwestern College.

All three players were first-team All-KCAC honorees a season ago, and Valdez and Serpan were NAIA Honorable Mention All-Americans. Serpan was named the 2022 KCAC Volleyball Freshman of the Year, and Wicker was named the 2022 KCAC Volleyball Defender of the Year.

The preseason team includes one graduate student, 11 seniors, three juniors, and four sophomores.
