Part of State Street in rural Saline County will be closed indefinitely after a void under the pavement was found.
The Saline County Road and Bridge Department this afternoon announced that State Street between Kansas Highway 140 and Fairchilds Road has been closed to through traffic due to the discovery of a void under the pavement. The roadway will be closed indefinitely.
Motorists are advised to allow a few extra minutes of travel time to reach their destinations. Local and emergency traffic will be provided access to private property within the sections of closed road at all times but only from the side upon which the property lies.
