Douglas F. O`Connor
February 7, 1971 ~ March 16, 2024

Douglas F. O`Connor, 53, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home in Salina.

Douglas was born in Salina, Kansas, on February 7, 1971, a son of Marlene (Mick) O’Connor and Wilford E. O’Connor Sr.

Doug attended Salina Catholic schools and then South Middle School. He then moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, with his family, where he started his sophomore year. He attended Norfolk Senior High, graduating in 1989.

Among Doug's greatest passions was his love for automobiles, a lifelong fascination that brought him endless joy and excitement. He found solace in the roar of an engine and the thrill of the open road, forging memories that would be cherished by those who shared in his passion.

Equally, at home, behind the wheel, or wielding a spatula, Doug's love for cooking was as boundless as his love for his family. His kitchen was a place of warmth and laughter, wherein he delighted in preparing delicious meals for those he held dear.

Survivors include his son, Colyn O’Connor, of Manhattan, Kansas; sister, Cyndy O’Connor, of Hutchinson, Kansas; three brothers, two of whom are in Salina, Kansas: Eddie O’Connor (Rachelle), Trey Hanchett (Lois); and Matthew O’Connor (Tiffany) of Assaria, Kansas. Also, his best friend and former wife of 29 years, Cindy O’Connor, of Salina, Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Marlene O’Connor, sister, Kathryn Hanchett, and nephew, Charlie Kohles.

A visitation will be at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th, St., Salina, Kansas, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 1-3 pm.

Please make memorials, in lieu of flowers, to Colyn O’Connor, to assist in finishing his Masters in Athletic Training, at K-State Manhattan.
