Sacred Heart may have stumbled out of the gates to 0-2 to start their 2025 football season, but with the way they’ve been playing, they may not lose another regular-season game.
The Knights have looked dominant in their last three contests, knocking off Pleasanton 29-7, Valley Heights 26-16, and Sedgwick 12-6.

Not only were the wins over Valley Heights and Sedgwick flipped losses from a season ago, but they showcased Sacred Heart’s ability to stand tall and win with defense, something Knight programs of the past have struggled with.
Sacred Heart fully controls its own destiny in Class 1A’s District 5, as the only team aside from Republic County without a district loss.
Before a big battle against the Buffaloes, the Knights will turn their attention to a road game in Bennington this week, as they look to take care of business against a struggling Bulldog squad.
Bennington emerged from 8-man football last year and will return to 8-man next year. They’ve struggled mightily in 1A, with a 1-13 record as part of the 11-man world.
Those struggles have continued for a Bulldog roster that features just 22 players, and just nine upperclassmen. Bennington enters week six at 0-5 and has been outscored by 242 points this season.
While the Knights enter this game as heavy favorites, the program is still in the midst of righting the ship, and will need to avoid the trap of playing down to competition on Friday night.
Tonight’s game will be streamed 100% free of charge on the Salina Post Sports Network, and the broadcast will be available both live and on demand.
