LINCOLN COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 10:30a.m. Wednesday in Lincoln County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Chevy Silverado driven by Heather Marie Schmidt, 38, Topeka, was westbound on Interstate 70 four miles east of Kansas 156.
The pickup rear-ended a 2016 Kia Optima driven by Kent G. Tadeo, 22, Fort Riley, who was slowing for traffic. The impact pushed the Kia off the highway and into the ditch.
EMS transported Tadeo and a passenger Joanna Rodriguez, 20, Fort Riley, to Salina Regional Health Center. Schmidt was not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
