KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Fort Hays State freshman Alexandra Hart was named MIAA Field Athlete of the Week after setting the school record in the high jump last week, announced Wednesday by the league office.

Hart won the high jump competition at Saturday's UNK Charlie Foster Classic after clearing the 5-9.75 bar. The jump is tied for first nationally in Division II and is one of just 12 NCAA DII automatic qualifying marks across the country so far this season. She eclipsed the 14-year-old school record by 0.5 inches.

She is the first FHSU women's indoor track and field to earn weekly honors from the MIAA since December 2014 (Anna Eigruber).

The Tigers are scheduled to return to action this week at the Wichita State Herm Wilson Invitational (Feb. 4-5).
