Kansas Wesleyan Men's Soccer overcame Sterling's packed in defense, finally landing home a 62nd minute goal to come away with a 1-0 win over the Warriors on Wednesday night at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex.

The first half was pretty quiet as the teams worked against each other trying to find a crease to score.

KWU had a solid chance at a goal in the 30th minute on a shot by Seth Flores but his shot was saved.

The Coyotes almost got a goal in the 34th on a header shot by Morgan Spilker.

Wesleyan's best chance in the first half came in the 37th minute. Quatama Massaquoi took an initial shot that hit the post and Pierre Gueguen's follow hit the crossbar.

Finally in the 62nd minute the Coyotes broke the ice. Skyler Denny scored it after Gonzalo Gaubeka played a ball from near the end line back to Denny who finished with the shot and goal.

The Coyotes had a few more shots to try to extend the lead but could not penetrate Sterling's packed in defense.

Wesleyan outshot Sterling 19-5 in the match. Flores and Gueguen led the way with three shots each. Shae Wirt had a clean sheet in goal with two saves.
