Vivian V. Graves, Tescott

Obituary | Vivian V. Graves of Tescott, Kansas | Wilson Family Funeral Home
April 18, 1930 - August 28, 2022
Vivian V. Graves was welcomed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 28, 2022. Vivian was born on April 18, 1930, in Laverne, Oklahoma, the eldest child of Arthur and Esther (Swallow) Moore.
Vivian attended school in Englewood, KS, where she met her future husband, Emery Graves. They were married on November 24, 1946 and celebrated 55 years of marriage before Emery passed in 2002. This union was blessed with two children, Donna Gent (David) of Lindsborg, KS, and Gary Graves (Cheryl) of Tescott, KS.
Vivian was a loving wife and mother who cared deeply for her family. She cherished time with her children and later, her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Over the years, she gifted them with many homemade treasures including quilts and crocheted items. Vivian enjoyed gardening. She was quite industrious, and many remember her large yields of sweet corn along with a variety of vegetables to cover every spot in her large garden plot. Along with produce gardening, her home and yard were filled with beautiful flowers and plants which she tended so well.
Vivian enjoyed her farm life. She cared for the chickens, hogs, sheep, and cattle right alongside her family and even learned to drive the ATV.
She was thankful for her church family at Beverly Community Church and enjoyed attending the Ladies Banquet and multiple women’s Bible studies. She had a heart for prayer and leaned on the Lord for many years, especially following Emery’s passing.
Vivian was preceded in death by her two brothers, Vernon and Vearl.
Survivors include her brother Melvin (Harriet) Moore, sister Carolyn Myers; daughter Donna (David) Gent, son Gary (Cheryl) Graves; seven grandchildren Dan (Dawn) Gent, Dennis (Darla) Gent, Loree (DeAndre) Sparks-Beason, Jason (Leah) Graves, Amy (Timothy) Moran, Leslie (Andy) Allen, and Angela (Tyler) Hlad; and eighteen greatgrandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Beverly Community Church, 200 N. Agnes, Beverly, KS. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle, Minneapolis, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1.
