MANKATO - An earthquake shook part of Jewell County this afternoon.
According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 3.9 magnitude quake struck at 2:29 p.m. Monday in western Jewell County southwest of Mankato. The earthquake was centered northwest of the intersection of 70 Road and K Road.
The United States Geological Survey rated the quake at 3.5 magnitude.
