UPDATED: Vehicle crash at Water Well/Ohio caused by driver running stop sign

Saline County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ohio Street and Water Well Road in rural Saline County on Wednesday morning. 

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office at 10:57 a.m. on Oct. 9,  Donald Ehm, 78, of Phillipsburg, was driving eastbound on Water Well Road in a silver 2012 Ford Escape when he failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign. Ehm’s vehicle collided with a green 2022 Nissan Pathfinder traveling northbound on Ohio Street, driven by Kala Kloster, 41, of Salina. Kloster had an 11-year-old passenger in the vehicle.

EMS personnel evaluated the occupants of both vehicles at the scene, but no one required transportation to the hospital.

Ehm was cited for disobeying a stop sign.

The crash caused traffic delays, with grain trucks and other vehicles backed up at the intersection.
