Joan Wohler, 69 died October 25, 2020 in Topeka, KS.  She was born on September 12, 1951 in Concordia, KS, the daughter of Vernon and Eva (Carson-Schaefer) Helms.  Joan was raised in the Linn community and was a graduate of Linn High School class of 1969.  She worked at the Linn Community Nursing Home and at Jack’s Food Market.  Joan married David Wohler on July 17, 1981.  After the family moved to Clay Center, she worked as a cook at the Clay County Hospital.  David preceded her in death on March 7, 2018.  Joan had a love for music and played the piano, accordion and organ.  She was also preceded in death by her father; sister, Jeanette Peters; son in law, Rodney Ohlde and son in law, Ron Smith.

Sister: Edith and husband Roger Lange of Clay Center, KS

Sister: Saundra and husband Claire Wohler of Linn, KS

Brother in Law: Mike Peters of Linn, KS

7 Grandchildren & 3 Great-grandchildren

Funeral Services: 10:30AM Friday, October 30, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn, KS

Minister: Pastor David Gruoner

Graveside Services: 1:30 PM Friday October 30, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, KS

Visitation: 4-7 PM Thursday, October 29, 2020 with the family greeting from 4-6PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center.  Facemasks that cover the nose and mouth are required for those attending. 

Memorials:  Elara Hospice, Kelly House 1 or Clay County Hospital Foundation to be used for Alzheimer’s treatment
