Salina man arrested after alleged domestic incident Monday

A Salina man was arrested on requested domestic violence and kidnapping charges after an incident Monday.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning that officers were sent to Salina Regional Health Center to speak with a woman who allegedly had been injured in domestic incident.

According to Forrester, the woman reported being in her apartment when her boyfriend, Clarence Brown, 34, of Salina, accused her of having cameras in the apartment. Brown then allegedly began physically battering her, Forrester noted. Brown then was reported to have obstructed the female from leaving the apartment, he added. Brown then proceeded to strangle her, Forrester noted.

The woman told police that she eventually was locked in a closed, but finally was able to convince Brown to open the closet, at which time she ran outside the apartment at 2130 East Crawford Street, Forrester explained. Brown allegedly caught her and was restraining her when a witness stopped on East Crawford Street, he noted. The woman was able to run to the vehicle and get in, he added.

According to Forrester, the woman had injuries consistent with her reported abuse.

Brown was arrested on the following requested charges, Forrester reported.
