Lizzie “Kathe” Kolp, 91 of Abilene passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025. She was born September 22, 1933 in Madison, Minnesota, the daughter of Masquil and Bessie (McCaskey) Kolp. She worked at AT&T as a factory worker before retiring. Kathe enjoyed cake decorating, gardening/canning, sewing and she loved any animal she came across.
Kathe is survived by her son, Lonny Kolp and wife Debra and a daughter, Janice Spillane and husband Denis. One granddaughter, Megan Kolp and a brother, David Kolp and wife Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles Kolp and sister, Irma “Darlene” Petersen. The family has a chosen cremation.
A Memorial Service will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 29, 2025 at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Abilene City Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be given to Hospice of Dickinson County.
