An Abilene business is without a van after it was stolen in Salina earlier this week.

Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus said this morning that sometime between 10 p.m. July 2 and 6 a.m. on July 3, someone stole a white 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van owned by Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd Street, Abilene. The van was stolen from the 1400 block of Kiowa Avenue in Salina.

Salina Post confirmed the reporting party was an employee of the funeral home. The van is titled under Danner Funeral Home, 501 N. Buckeye Avenue, Abilene.

The van had a Kansas license plate registered in Dickinson County with 791KMR as the licensee plate number. A mortuary gurney was also in the van. The van was described as having dark tinted windows and without any identifiable features such as a business logo.

The van was valued at $9,000. Hanus said the keys were with the vehicle.

The Salina Police Department confirmed via the FLOCK camera system, that the van was seen leaving Salina, heading towards the interstate, after 7 a.m. on July 3.
