Craig Ernest Applebee, 65, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away at 3:59 p.m., Thursday, July 16th, 2020 suddenly at his residence.
Craig was born in McPherson, Kansas on September 11, 1954, a son of Robert A. and Margaret Yvonne (Folsom) Applebee.
Craig attended Roosevelt grade school, McPherson Junior High School and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1972. He then attended the Salina Police Academy, Salina, Kansas.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Through the years Craig worked as a security officer for many agencies in Kansas.
Craig enjoyed drawing, riding his Harley-Davidson, reading, crossword puzzles, listening to music and spending time with his friends and family.
Craig Ernest Applebee was united in marriage to Gwen Rose Barnhart in McPherson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Hutchinson. This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters, Elisa and Tiffany.
He is survived by his daughters, Elisa Applebee, of McPherson, Kansas and Tiffany Hinson, of McPherson, Kansas; his siblings, Angie Applebee-Drew and her husband Ron Turner, of Omaha, Nebraska, Allen Applebee and his wife Darlene, of Lady Lake, Florida, Gary Applebee and his wife Rosemary, of Union, Mississippi and Kent Applebee and his wife Sharon, of Concordia, Kansas. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Christopher Stiles, Sebastian Applebee, Serena Hinson and a great-granddaughter, Sabrina Amburgey.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents.
