The Southeast of Saline Cross Country teams finished out the non-league portion of their regular season in style on Saturday, collecting a third straight sweep at the Riley County Invitational.

The Trojans rolled through the 12-team field, finishing 84 points ahead of the next closest group in Beloit-St. Johns while the Lady Trojans stayed 20 points clear of Clay Center in a convincing team victory.

On the boy’s side, the Trojans took each of the top four spots and filled out seven of the top 20 in one of their best team efforts of the season.

Levi Allen added another race win to his remarkable year with a time of 16:37.71, followed by Damion Jackson who finished second, just ten seconds off the junior’s pace.

Third and fourth were once again claimed by Brayden and Cayden Walker who were separated by five full seconds instead of a photo finish, and freshman Jacob Bircher rounded out the top ten with a time of 18:08.

Nakari Morrical-Palmer came home just a second behind Bircher in 11th, followed by another freshman in Isaiah Kejr who kept the whole team in the top 20 with a 17th-place finish.

On the girl's side sophomore Abby Commerford took home top honors leading the Lady Trojans with a time of 20:15.75 and a third-place finish.

Southeast would also claim fourth and fifth place thanks to Breckyn Alderson and Ashley Prochazka to take three of the top five spots in Riley County.

Cali Augustine and Savannah Sutton rounded out runners in the top 25 finishing 17th and 19th respectively.

Heading into the NCAA League Meet next week both SES cross country teams have finished as the fastest 3A team at every meet so far.

The Trojans and Lady Trojans will be heavy favorites to collect another pair of convincing victories before regionals later this month.
