He started driving west in search of a new career and accepted a job offer with the Gas Service Co. in Newton, Kansas, the town they would soon call home. Three short years later, his daughter Tina was born in 1965.

Charles then gained four more children by marriage: Dennis Britton (Linda) of Newton, Juli Wilson (Rick) of Salina, Lori Nisbeth (GR) of Abilene, and Devin Kelsey (Jaime) of Salina. They lived happily ever after at their home in Hillsboro Kansas. They would have been married 20 years this October.
Chuck loved spending time with family, friends, and neighbors, working in his garden, fishing, hunting, pulling pranks, and kicking it back in his easy chair.
