Have you considered serving on a non-profit or civic board, but aren't quite sure of the expectations?

The Salina Area Chamber of Commerce and Kansas Wesleyan University are offering a one-day, immersive board service training program to help with just that.

Springboard Board Service Training is scheduled for 9 a.m.-4 p.m. April 13 in KWU's Fitzpatrick Auditorium. The cost is $60 per person. Scholarship funding is available for those who need it, according to information from the chamber.

"Springboard participants will learn typical board responsibilities, governance, procedures, ways to support the executive director and discuss how they respond to specific board scenarios," the chamber noted in a news release.

The Springboard program is the result of a Leadership Salina 2021 group project. It is funded in part by a grant from the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund of the Greater Salina Community Foundation.
