ARKANSAS CITY -- Fresh off a three-win week last week, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team would be stopped in their tracks by Cowley Community College in a 25-13, 25-13, 25-22 road loss inside W.S. Scott Auditorium in Arkansas City on Monday.

The loss drops CCCC to 7-6 overall and 6-6 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference while the Tigers improved to 8-7 overall and 5-7 in the KJCCC while earning a season split with the T-Birds.

Offensive struggles would see Cloud County record just 17 total kills on the night Hollie Stewart and Delaney Herold would pace the T-Birds with five each. Jaycee Burghart and Linnea Mowry would each contribute nine total digs in the contest as Burghart would also add all 17 set assists and one of CCCC's two service aces.

What's next?
Cloud County will be back on the road again on Thursday as the T-Birds will travel to Highland to take on the number seven-ranked Scotties. Off to a 7-1 overall start, Highland is tied atop the KJCCC Division II standings but has not played a match since Feb. 13 after seeing their previous five matches postponed due to health and safety protocols.
