Elizabeth “Jo” McRae was born April 1, 1935, on the family farm south of Herington, KS. She passed away on September 29, 2021, at Diversicare of Council Grove. She was the youngest daughter of Thomas McRae, Jr and Vera “Erma” (VonRohr) McRae.

Jo was a graduate of Herington High School and graduated from Emporia State University with a degree in business management. She worked several jobs in her lifetime to include real estate, banking and office manager for United Farm Agency in Kansas City.

Besides several years in Kansas City, Jo never left the farm until she moved into Diversicare of Council Grove with her sister. She and her sister Becky, loved to travel the country and parts of Canada, chasing their family genealogy. She also loved to spend time with family and friends especially her sister.

Jo is survived by her sister Becky of Council Grove and several cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Family will host friends at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home in Herington October 6, 2021, from 10:00 till the service starts at 11:00. Service will be at 11:00 with internment at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Herington.
