A local man was arrested late Wednesday on multiple requested charges after a Salina Police Department K-9 indicated the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle.

Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus said this morning that an officer stopped a vehicle driven by Troy D. Pryor, 48, of Salina, because of a license plate violation. The stop took place at approximately 10:55 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Bishop Street.

During the stop, the officer suspected illegal activity in the vehicle and deployed his K-9, Hanus said. The K-9 indicated on the vehicle and a search was then conducted. During the search, illegal narcotics allegedly were found.

Pryor was arrested on the following requested charges, Hanus said.

●Possession of an opiate, narcotic, or certain stimulant

●No drug tax stamp

●Driving while suspended

●No proof of insurance

●A license plate violation
