Lawrence Wayne Spohn, 83, of Marquette, KS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, surrounded by family at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS.  

He was born on February 19, 1941, in McPherson, KS, the son of Leo Ray and Helen LaMae (Anderson) Spohn.  Lawrence graduated from Windom High School in 1959.  On April 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Saundra Kay Johnson at the Andover Lutheran Church, Windom.  This union was blessed with three children, Tina, Jerry, and Tom.

Lawrence worked at the Marquette Grain Elevator (ADM) for over 42 years.  He was a member and Past President of the Marquette Saddle Club, Board Member and Past President for DS & O Rural Electric, and Past President of the Marquette Senior Center Board. 

Survivors include his loving wife of over 62 years, Saundra of the home; children, Tina (Chris) Dauer of Falun, KS, Jerry (Marilyn) Spohn of Marquette, KS, and Tom (Virginia) Spohn of Marquette, KS; four brothers, Ross (Effie) Spohn of Westmoreland, KS, Cary (Pauline) Spohn of Newton, KS, Raymond (Leslie) Spohn of South Daytona, FL, and Doyle (Pat) Spohn of Holton, KS; six grandchildren, Sarah (Chris) Lohrey, Logan (Emily) Spohn, Jodi (Jonathan) Reazin, Josh (Britta) Dauer, Lori (Gabe) Dierksen, and Quaid (Tyann) Spohn; 13 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, December 16, 2024, at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette.  A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 17, at Elim Lutheran Church with Pastor Amy Kay Pavlovich officiating.  The final resting place will be in Marquette Cemetery.
