Kansas Wesleyan University's soccer teams fell to ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan teams on Saturday.

The No. 11 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan women knocked off the Coyotes 3-1 in the Kansas Conference opener for both teams on Saturday on the OKWU pitch.

The Eagles scored one goal in the first half, by Laura Maria in the 21st minute, and added two more in the second half.

Faith Mosaira netted a goal in the 49th minute and Maria again found the net in the 60th minute.

The Coyotes would get a goal in the 86th minute from Alex Liles (SO/Salina) to avoid the shutout.

OKWU outshot the Coyotes 15-5 in the match. Kayla Deaver (SR/Lee's Summit, Mo.) and Leoni Enzlmuller (FR/Linz, Austria) led the Coyotes with two each. Daisy Bingham (SR/Huntington Beach, Calif.) had seven saves in goal for the Coyotes.

Wesleyan was slated to play Ottawa on Wednesday at Graves Family Sports Complex, but COVID issues within Ottawa's program have led to the postponement of the match. Next action for the Coyotes will now be Saturday when KWU hosts Bellevue (Neb.) at 5 p.m. at the Graves Family Sports Complex.

The men's match

The Kansas Wesleyan men scored an early goal against fourth-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan, but the Eagles answered with five straight to come away with a 5-1 win on Saturday at the OKWU pitch.

Alfonso Lopez (JR/Fontana, Calif.) scored KWU's lone goal in the fifth minute, but OKWU quickly responded with an equalizer in the seventh minute.

The Eagles took the lead with a goal in the 28th minute and led 2-1 at the half.

OKWU added three more in the second half for the win.

OKWU outshot the Coyotes 28-4 in the match. Oswaldo Diaz-Lopez (FR/Bryan, Texas) had eight saves in goal for the Coyotes.

Up next for the Coyotes will be a match against Ottawa on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Graves Family Sports Complex. The match time has changed due to the postponement of the women's match between KWU and Ottawa.
