Salina will commemorate Veterans Day with several events honoring those who have served.
Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, will start with a flag-raising ceremony and cannon salute at Salina Area Technical College, 2562 Centennial Road, at 9:30 a.m., led by soldiers from the Regional Training Site-Maintenance.
Master Sgt. David Medina Jr., quality assurance operations noncommissioned officer in charge of the 235th Regiment, will serve as the guest speaker for a Veterans Day ceremony at the Salina War Memorial in Sunset Park, 700 Sunset Drive. This ceremony is set to begin at 11 a.m. Following Monday’s ceremony, the American Legion Post 62 will host a luncheon at the VFW Post 1432, 1108 W. Crawford. The community is encouraged to attend these events to honor and show support for veterans.
Interim Healthcare & Hospice invites the community to the 3rd Annual David Torrey Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. The parade will run from Elm to South Street, celebrating and honoring veterans. Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue and bring flags to show their support.
