Patricia Lynn (Maddy) Mitchell of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on August 10, 1940, in Norton, Kansas, Patricia lived a life marked by compassion, service, and a love for adventure.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Erwin Mitchell, whom she married on October 30, 1964; her son, Douglas Mitchell; her parents, Lloyd and Lorraine (Ervin) Maddy; and her brother, Ronald Maddy.

She is survived by her loving children, Teri Mitchell and Bradley Mitchell; her son-in-law, Zell Woodworth; and four grandchildren.

Patricia earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fort Hays State University and went on to dedicate her career to serving others. She worked for many years as a social worker before becoming the Director of KVRC (Kansas Vocational Rehabilitation Center), where she helped individuals find hope and opportunity through vocational support.

In addition to her professional work, Patricia was a volunteer and advocate for senior citizens in the Salina area, always willing to lend a hand or a kind word.

Patricia had a zest for life and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. She loved fishing, camping, and traveling in her RV with her beloved dog, Molly. A proud and active member of RVW (RVing Women), she explored much of the United States, making friends and creating lasting memories along the way.

Patricia also enjoyed riding her Harley and was a member of the Salina Harley Club, enjoying the thrill of the open road with the same passion she brought to every part of her life.

She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and adventurous spirit. Her legacy of service and love will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 E. Neal Ave, Salina, KS.
