A Friday morning house fire in rural Saline County caused more than $100,000 in damage. The occupant escaped without injury.
Saline County Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters from Rural Fire Districts #7 and #5 were dispatched to the 4700 block of North Dorman Road around 8:44 a.m. on Nov. 29 after the homes occupant called 911 to report a fire. The home’s occupant safely evacuated before emergency crews arrived.
Investigators determined the fire started near the chimney of a wood-burning stove. Despite the quick response from firefighters, the home sustained extensive fire, smoke, and water damage, with losses estimated to exceed $100,000.
