Troy Dean Frye was born in Belleville on December 31, 1960, the son of Verne Allen and Betty Eudene (Swaney) Frye. Troy graduated from Tonganoxie (KS) High School in 1979.
Following high school, he returned to Belleville to work on the family farm. He later went to work for Derowitsch Construction, Alsop Sand Company, and then the city of Belleville. He was united in marriage to Berdina Allen on September 24, 1996, in Belleville.
Troy’s passion in life was his family and racing. He could almost always be found in the shop working on his son’s or grandson’s racecar, or spending time at many of the local tracks, watching the races and giving advice.
Troy passed away on May 1, 2021, in Wichita, at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 1 day. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Terry and sister Tyra.
He will be forever remembered by his wife Berdina, son Tyler Frye and his wife Diana, and their son Trevin, of Belleville, daughter Tamika Frye and her daughter Brianna, sister Tracey Helmick, sister Trisha Bruns (David), and many friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Belleville High Banks Racetrack, with Pastor Jacob Rice officiating. The family requests persons attending the service to wear casual attire.
Friends may sign Troy’s register book on Friday, May 7, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville.
Memorials are requested to the family’s choice, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
