Galva woman struck, dragged in accident at Salina Speedway Friday

A Galva woman was struck and dragged by an SUV at the Salina Speedway Friday evening.

Michael Dodge, 24, of Salina, was backing out of a parking spot when the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee he was driving struck Dana Rogers, 68, of Galva, Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning. Dodge didn't realize that he had hit Rogers and continued backing, dragging her for approximately 20 feet, Soldan said.

The incident occurred shorty after 6 p.m Friday in the parking lot of the speedway, 2841 South Burma Road, he said.

Rogers had lacerations on her arm and was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center to be checked out, Soldan said.
