Kansas Wesleyan Men's Soccer scored three second half goals, including two in the last 13 minutes of the match to come away with a 3-2 win over the Evangel University Valor on Saturday at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
Evangel took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute on a off by Hayes Van Breusegen.
The Coyotes had a golden chance at a goal in the 30th minute but Juan Manuel Lozada Leon's shot on an empty net missed just to the right.
Wesleyan keeper Andrew Cole made a fantastic save on a shot in the 41st to keep Evangel from scoring a second goal in the half.
The first goal for the Coyotes came in the 50th minute after a foul in the box gave KWU a shot from the penalty spot and Lozada came through to tie the match.
Cole again came up big for the Coyotes with a diving one-handed save of an Evangel shot in the 52nd minute.
Evangel regained the lead in the 69th minute on another goal by Van Breusegen.
The Coyotes nearly had an equalizer in the 71st as Inigo Munoz Sainz' initial shot hit the post and a follow by Lozada was saved.
Jose Caballero nearly missed a goal in the 76th minute but less than a minute later the Coyotes got an equalizer. KWU was awarded a corner and Lozada sent the ball in to the back post where Alejandro Diaz Castro was waiting to knock it in.
Sainz then netted the game winner for the Coyotes in the 81st off an assist by Jose Valdez.
Shots were 14-13 in favor of Evangel, but KWU outshot the Valor 10-6 in the second half.
Lozada led the Coyotes with four shots. Sainz had three.
