On Monday, April 7, the Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin bridge repair work on southbound I-135 over I-70 in Saline County.
During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane in the work zone. The eastbound I-70 entrance ramp from southbound U.S. 81/I-135 will be closed to traffic as well as the entrance ramp to southbound I-135 from westbound I-70.
Southbound U.S. 81/I-135 traffic wanting to go east on I-70 will be guided to follow the signed detour to exit 95B, westbound I-70 and exit 249, Halstead Road. Westbound I-70 traffic wanting to go south on I-135 will be guided to detour at exit 249, Halstead Road and exit 250A, southbound I-135. (See attached maps.)
Wildcat Construction Co. Inc. and Subsidiaries, of Wichita, is the prime contractor for this $638,000 project, which is scheduled to be completed in July, weather permitting.
