For the second time in a month, two drivers involved in a collision both claimed they had a green light. This time, however, two independent witnesses confirmed their claims.

Isaiah Randalle, 21, of Salina, was westbound on W. Crawford Street and making a lefthand turn onto S. Broadway Boulevard when his 2019 Dodge Charger collided with a northbound 2005 Toyota Camry driven by Jamie Davidson, 74, of Abilene, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The accident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Forrester said that both Randalle and Davidson claimed to have a green light at the time of the accident, which was confirmed by two independent witnesses.

On July 27, both drivers in an accident at S. Ohio Street and Albert Avenue claimed to have a green light, however there were no independent witnesses to confirm their claims.

The airbag deployed in the Camry. Forrester said that Davidson seemed disoriented and was checked out and then released at the scene by EMS. A 79-year-old female passenger in the Camry was not injured. Randalle complained of rib pain and was treated and released at the scene, Forrester added.

The Charger sustained major rear end damage and the Camry sustained front-end damage. Both were removed from the scene by wrecker, Forrester said.

Randalle was cited for no driver's license in possession, Forrester said.

He said city personnel would need to be called to check the traffic light to make sure they are working properly.
