Salina man with a criminal history flees law enforcement on a moped before arrest.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on Thursday at around 7:45 pm, an officer discovered a man on a moped in the area of 8th and Mulberry commit a traffic infraction.
Subsequently, the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the driver fled.
The driver turned onto Walnut to Santa Fe, but lost control when he attempted to turn onto Santa Fe and tipped the moped over in the intersection.
The suspect then fled on foot and the officer pursued. He ran to the 100 block of S. Santa Fe, then went towards 5th Street where he stopped. He was taken then into custody without further incident.
Colten Miller (23) of Salina was arrested and booked into the Saline County Jail in reference to Probation Violation warrants (2), Fleeing and Elude and Interference with LEO.
SPD stated Miller was also booked for two previous cases that included an Aggravated Battery requested charge, where he placed a known associate into a choke hold back on March.
The second case was when Miller allegedly accessed a known associate's Chime Card illegally and sent himself approximately $200, back on February.
He was placed with a Criminal Use of a Financial card and Computer Crime requested charge.
