LAWRENCE, Kan. – Tournament officials with the Cancun Challenge college basketball tournament have finalized the field and schedule for tournament, which takes place on Nov. 26-28 at the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya.
Kansas will compete in the Riviera Tournament, which features six teams that will play two games apiece. The Jayhawksface Washington State on Thursday, Nov. 26 at 3 p.m. CT before closing out the tournament against Miami (Ohio) on Friday, Nov. 27 at 5:30 p.m. CT. Other teams competing in the Riviera Tournament are Minnesota, Missouri State and Cincinnati.
With the announcement of the Cancun Challenge field, Kansas now knows all 13 of its non-conference opponents. The Jayhawks will play eight non-conference games at Allen Fieldhouse, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 3 against Omaha. In addition to the two games in Mexico, KU will play neutral site contests against Nebraska in the MarketBeat Invitational on Nov. 14 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and against South Dakota State in the 28.5 Hoops Invitational on Nov. 22 at the T-Mobile Center in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
Powered by Triple Crown Sports, the 2026 Cancun Challenge marks the 22nd edition of the women's tournament and the 20th for the men. Kansas will be participating in the event for the first time.
