A Salina man was arrested for driving recklessly on two separate occasions.

According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on July 22, officers arrested Dylan Morgenstern (32) of Salina in reference to an incident that occurred on July 1. During the incident, a 46-year-old female reported she was preparing to exit the Walmart parking lot (2900 S. 9th) to turn on Schilling when a white Nissan Frontier pick-up turned off Schilling into the wrong lane nearly striking the victim’s vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Morgenstern, then showed his middle finger at the victim and began yelling at her.

The vehicle then continued into the parking lot at a high rate of speed.

On July 12, SPD received a report of an erratic white Nissan Frontier pick-up that had swerved into oncoming traffic, while “flipping” people off in the area of Kenwood Park Drive. Officers investigating the incident became aware of social media posts about similar incidents in the Salina area involving the same vehicle.

Officers attempted to make contact with citizens who posted about the incidents. Based on the investigation, it was believed the driver was intentionally driving towards other vehicles. Using FLOCK, officers determined that the vehicle was the same in each incident.

Morgenstern was identified as the driver and was booked into the Saline County Jail in reference to Aggravated Assault and  of Reckless Driving.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.

SPD requests that anyone who was involved in or witnessed a similar incident involving a white Nissan Frontier pick-up to please contact them at 785-826-7210.
