On Monday afternoon, Salina Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a disturbance at a Salina residence after reports of a man allegedly slapping his mother.
According to SPD Police Captain David Villanueva, officers went to the 1300 block of Arapaho Drive in Salina to investigate a domestic incident. Villanueva said the suepct, identified as Jarred Keehner, 43-year-old of Salina, allegedly slapped his mother on the arm. Two witnesses saw the slap.
"The suspect was contacted, and he made comments to the two other persons who witnessed the original slap and said he was going to kill them," Villanueva said. "He said he was going to burn the house down with everybody in it."
Keehner was arrested and transported to Salina Regional Health Center for medical clearance.
"While he was there, he [Keehner] also told one of the security folks that he was going to take their gun and beat them in the head with it," Villanueva said.
Keehner received the following requested charges: criminal threat and domestic battery.
