Hal Stephens
January 29, 1933 ~ November 9, 2023

Hal D. Stephens was born January 29, 1933, in Riley County, Kansas, the son of Percy and Pearl (Smith) Stephens. He passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina.

Hal graduated from St. George High School and served in the United States Army. He worked for over 50 years at Jilka Furniture Store in Salina before retiring.

Hal enjoyed repairing grandfather clocks and furniture, collecting farm toys and farmed on the side.

On February 2, 1963, Hal was united in marriage to Helen “Sandy” Sanderson in Salina. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his son Marc of Solomon, daughter Jennifer Stephens and her companion Ron Billinger of Castle Rock, Colorado, and sister Mary Rubendall. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Arnold Stephens, Phillip Adolph, Orville Adolph, and his sister Vera Morgan.

Services for Hal will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Solomon United Methodist Church in Solomon with Rebecca Stredney officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Solomon United Methodist Church or to the Salina Animal Shelter and may be sent in care of the Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, P.O. Box, Solomon, Kansas 67480.
