Vernon D. Becker, 96, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at Moundridge Manor. He was born June 9, 1926 in Galva, Kansas, the son of Dan H. and Susie (Unruh) Becker.
Vernon was a farmer for 85 years. He was a member of Lone Tree Mennonite Church in Galva.
Vernon was united in marriage to Elfrieda Mae Koehn on May 8, 1949 in Galva, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include his son Don (Trula) Becker of Tonasket, WA; daughters Joyce (Brad) Dirks of Hesston and Karen (Troy) Barnt of McPherson; seven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters Twila (Cleo) Jantz of Winton, CA and Lovella Koehn of Transylvania, LA.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; a sister; and a granddaughter, Heidi Joy Dirks.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Lone Tree Mennonite Church, Galva. Burial will follow at Lone Tree Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, September 7 at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the church.
