Saline County Emergency Management

Saline County Road and Bridge crews are actively treating and plowing roadways on Sunday. Drivers should expect roads to refreeze overnight and into Monday morning.

Even without additional snowfall, changing temperatures can create slick spots, especially on bridges, overpasses, shaded areas, and less-traveled roads. Driving conditions later tonight and early tomorrow may be different than what motorists experienced Sunday afternoon.

STAY SAFE:

  1. Slow down and leave extra space between vehicles.
  2. Expect slick spots on bridges, overpasses, and untreated roads.
  3. Clear ice and snow from windows, mirrors, and lights before traveling.
  4. Avoid cruise control on snowy or icy surfaces.
  5. Carry a small winter emergency kit: blanket, flashlight, ice scraper, and charger.

Saline County Road and Bridge will continue to monitor conditions and adjust operations as needed.
