Obituary | Margaret A. Pruitt of Kansas City, Missouri | Wilson Family Funeral Home

February 9, 1928 - June 25, 2022

Margaret Ann (Dickinson) Pruitt, 94, Kansas City, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

She was born February 9,1928 to John and Neva (Cooper) Dickinson of Glen Elder, KS. She graduated from Glen Elder High School in 1946. On January 26, 1947, she married Lloyd Pruitt and they made their home on farm near Barnard, KS. They were blessed to be married for 71 years.

Margaret served as church pianist at age 14 in Glen Elder Methodist Church. During World War II and while still a senior in High School, the Glen Elder School Board asked Margaret to serve as the music teacher to other high school students. Her pay at the end of the year was a lapel pin. Margaret was highly active in the Ada Methodist Church where she was the organist and Sunday school teacher. When she and Lloyd retired to Bella Vista, AR, she continued to offer her musical talents as organist at Bella Vista Christian Church. She remained faithful in her music service to the Lord for 67 years.

In 1989, Margaret was crowned Ms. Senior Bella Vista. Later that year, she was fourth runner-up in the Ms. Senior Arkansas Pageant.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, brother Max, sister Joan and husband Lloyd.

Margaret was a loving mother to her four children: John (Marilyn) of Lenexa, KS, Kathy (Dan) of Kansas City, MO, Tom (Joni) of McPherson, KS and Joni of Little Rock, AR. She was blessed by her ten grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Janice (Jim) of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. June 29, 2022, at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Ada, KS. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28th at the funeral home.

Lloyd and Margaret had a heart for Missouri Baptist Children’s Home so in lieu of flowers, any memorials received will go towards Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, 11300 St. Charles Rock Road, Bridgeton, MO 63044-2793.
