Representative J.R. Claeys (R-Salina) was elected by the Kansas Republican Party to serve as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention in August.

The convention was recently moved from Charlotte, North Carolina to Jacksonville, Florida.

“I’m honored to be selected by Republicans from across the state of Kansas to represent their vote at the Republican National Convention,” said Claeys. “I support the president and the Republican Party platform, and I look forward to casting a vote for President Trump.”

Kansas Republicans will send 39 delegates to the convention to nominate Donald J. Trump for president and Mike Pence for vice president on the Republican ticket. Claeys is currently employed by the Trump Victory campaign, working in battleground states in the region.

Claeys is in his fourth term serving in the Kansas House of Representatives. He is currently running for the Republican nomination for the Kansas State Senate, serving Saline and Dickinson counties.
