DICKINSON COUNTY - Employees of Memorial Health System (MHS) in Abilene wore blue jeans at work for another “Jeans Day” fundraiser throughout the month of April.

Employees make a donation, of at least $2, and are allowed to wear blue jeans at work.

A total donation of $787 is being used to purchase diapers for the Community Baby Shower event.

The event, organized by the Dickinson County Health Department, invites all Dickinson County women who are pregnant and new moms (up to three months postpartum) to attend.

According to MHS, Memorial Health System’s Heartland Health Care Clinic will have a table at the event. Staff will pass out packages of diapers, until they are gone, to mothers who come by the table.

Information will also be available at the event on community resources. Additionally, there will be gifts raffles, prizes and more.

The Community Baby Shower will be held on May 7, at Sterl Hall in Abilene (619 N Rogers St.) with registration from 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm and the event beginning at 5:00 pm.
