E. Republic Avenue east of S. Ohio Street was closed today for a pavement replacement project.
Lancaster Construction Inc., Salina, will be removing pavement to replace it with a valley gutter to provide a smoother vehicular transition on the east side of S. Ohio Street.
Due to the street repairs that will be taking place, closure of E. Republic Avenue east of S. Ohio Street will be required. S. Ohio Street will be reduced to one lane northbound until completed for the safety of the workers. Traffic Control is in place for the duration of this project.
Pavement repair began Monday with an estimated completion by Friday, weather permitting.
The $130,000 project is part of the City of Salina's $4.7 million 2022 street maintenance capital improvement program.
