Leroy E. Johnson, 74, Salina, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022. He was born April 17, 1948 to Verne and Madonna Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Salina Senior High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Leroy was an electrician by trade, and worked for many years before his retirement at Central Kansas Electric, of which he was part owner. He was a man of many hobbies, and over the course of his life he played baseball; competed in car audio competitions and skeet shooting; and was an avid sportsman who spent many happy days hunting and fishing. He was proud to be a friend of Bill W for 48 years.
Leroy was a devoted father, a loving partner, and a generous friend to many. He is survived by his longtime partner, Karen Schmidt; daughter, Jamie Johnson; sisters Sharion Horton, Carolyn (David) Goodwin, and Jan Johannes; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in the Fellowship Hall at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 111 W. Magnolia, in Salina.
