February 10, 1941 - May 17, 2021

Edgar Elwyn Wright, age 80, entered into rest on May 17, 2021 at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, Kansas. He was born February 10, 1941 in Jewell County, Kansas to Glenn Ray and Ida Agnes (Miles) Wright.

Wright was a 1959 graduate of Ionia High School. He married Patricia “Pat” Eilers on May 25, 1962 in Hays, Kansas.  She preceded him in death on October 7, 2016.

Wright received his bachelor’s degree in English from Fort Hays State University in 1963 and his school administration master's in 1968.  He received a master's from Kansas State University inbbehavioral disorders in 1988.

Wright started his teaching career in Oberlin, Kansas. He then taught in Mankato and moved to Summerfield, Kansas as a high school principal. Wright was a high school principal at Washington High School, Washington, Kansas. He then went to Clifton-Clyde High School, Clyde, Kansas. The Wright’s moved to El Paso, Texas where he worked in behavioral dducation at DeValle High School. Wright retired from education after teaching special education at Garden City High School in Garden City, Kansas. In retirement, he and his wife moved to Montrose, Kansas before moving to Concordia.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kelli Wright of Stockton and Sammi Wright of Stuttgart, Germany.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pat, parents Glenn and Ida, and sisters Merna Keeler (Nelson) and Ardeth McGinnis (Nolan).

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be announced at a later time.  Arrangements are under the care of Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
