JEWELL COUNTY - A 4.0 magnitude earthquake shook northern Jewell County this morning.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 4.0 magnitude quake struck far northern Jewell County, Kan., southwest of Superior, Neb., at 7:04 a.m. Tuesday. It was centered just southeast of the 200 Road/Diamond Road intersection, slightly more than a mile south of the Kansas-Nebraska state line.
