Get in the conversation with "Prairie Talks" and attend an event discussing rural development and federal impacts on local communities.

On Thursday from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Salina Art Center (242 S. Santa Fe Ave), moderated panel of local leaders and experts will be in attendance.

Those panelists include:

- Karen Couch, Salina Emergency Aid Food Bank

- Patrick Parker, Ashby House

- Michelle Groopman, Salina Area United Way

- Barb Young, North Salina Community Development

Kelly Mobray, Salina Adult Education Center

- Craig Warren, Central Kansas Mental Health Center

James Bowden, a local farmer and community leader will be the moderator.

According to the organization, during the event attendees will explore how pieces of the agricultural system fit together and how the general public can help advocate for them.

All of Saline County's federal delegation such as Sens. Roger Marshall & Jerry Moran, Rep. Tracey Mann have been invited to attend as well.

This community-driven conversation series has been organized by Prairie Progress, which is a nonpartisan organization focused on educating voters about the issues impacting Kansas.

This event is free and open to the public.
