Kenwood Cove, bonds, and a COVID-19 update are among the topics on the Salina City Commission agenda for Monday.
About the meetings
Study sessions and city commission meetings will take place in–person in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street, and via Zoom until further notice. Meetings also can be viewed at the City of Salina YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/cityofSalinaKansas.

If citizens wish to speak, either during the public forum or when the mayor requests public comment on an item, citizens attending via Zoom must raise their hands so that the meeting host can allow them to speak. Those who attend the in-person meeting will have the opportunity to speak at the podium.

In order for the commissioners to have an opportunity to review comments in advance of the meeting, please email your comments or questions by 5 p.m. the Sunday prior to the Monday meetings.
Study session
Commissioners are scheduled to begin with a study session at 3 p.m. Monday. The topic is "Kenwood Cove Modified Operations 2021."
Regular meeting
The regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
Commissioners are scheduled to hear a local COVID-19 update from Saline County Health Department Director Jason Tiller.
Additionally, commissioners are to consider award a bid for a project to re-surface the flooring and walls of the lazy river at Kenwood Cove.
Commissioners also are set to consider a resolution authorizing the offering for public sale general obligation temporary notes and bonds to help fund a variety of projects.
According to commission meeting packet information, temporary notes would be used to partially finance the following improvements.
●Ninth Street bridge, $1,905,000
●River renewal final design, $1,500,000
●Automated sanitation trucks, $1,600,000
●Tony's Pizza Events Center (TPEC) HVAC, $160,426
General obligation bonds would be used to retire a portion of the city's general obligation temporary note series 2020-1, which matures on May 1. They also would permanently finance the following projects.
●TPEC basketball floors, $109,994
●Police training facility, $6,020,721.96
●Stone Lake 2, $473,150.74
●Pheasant Ridge 3 PH 2, $570,316.80
●9 South, $884,594.63 (The city's share of this project is approximately $190,000 and will be funded from Street's Concrete budget in the Sales Tax Fund.)
