Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Lachman, 73, of Belleville, Kansas passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2023, at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina Kansas. She was born on March 18, 1949, in Waukegan, Illinois to Robert and June (Larson) Gaston.
She married David Serres on October 5, 1968, and raised one son, Steven Serres. They later divorced. On September 16, 1988, she married David Lachman in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. She worked for many years as the office administrator for the United Methodist Church in Sun City and Sun Lakes, Arizona.
After retirement, she developed a passion for quilting. She enjoyed making quilts for family and attending quilting retreats. She had a lifetime love for dogs, with many puppies and rescues providing joy over the years.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband David Lachman of Belleville, Kansas; son Steven (Julie) Serres and granddaughters Grace and Riley Serres, all of Hainesville, Illinois; mother-in-law, Barbara Lachman of Belleville, Kansas and many other friends and relatives.
She cast her humor, kindness, and love on everyone she encountered.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and June Gaston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the UMOM New Day Center, Phoenix, Arizona.
Celebration of life service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2023 at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel , Belleville, Kansas. Inurnment will be private.
